a. To promote the development of sustainable aquaculture industry in Singapore and beyond through collaborations and sharing of know-off and practices with international aquaculture associations and societies
b. To develop and promote the use of acceptable aquaculture standards or good aquaculture practices through collaborations with government agencies and farms where appropriate to improve, foster and enhance development of the aquaculture and aquaculture related industries
c. To seek, affiliate and collaborate with international aquaculture institutions in activities for the benefit of Institution members and those in local and regional aquaculture industries.
d. To provide and promote discussions of aquaculture related topics concerning production, processing and distribution of aquatic organisms and related products derived from these sources
e. To provide opportunities for continuing education programmes and accessibility to appropriate printed and electronic sources of information for the advancement of the aquaculture and related industry in the region
f. To provide opportunities for publications, presentations and dissemination of technical information on food and business aquaculture as well as related sciences for the benefit of the members
g. To promote and facilitate conferences, workshops, exhibitions, seminars and/or other educational activities for the benefit of the members
h. To inculcate the values of corporate social responsibility to its members

MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATION AND RIGHTS
Members of the IAS shall consist of Individual Members and Company Members
Individual Members shall consist of the following eight (8) categories: Founding Members, Honorary Fellows, Fellows, Members, Associate Members, Associates, Retired Members, and Student Members.
Company Member is opened to all registered companies who are in business related to aquaculture. The annual sponsorship fee as company membership shall be S$500 or other rate as may be approved by the Executive Committee. Company member shall have no voting rights.
APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
A person wishing to join the Society should submit his particulars to the Secretary on a prescribed form.
A new member must be proposed and seconded by existing members. His name will then be posted on the notice board in the Society premises for one week at the end of which time the Committee will decide on membership, taking into consideration any objection raised.
A copy of the Constitution shall be furnished to every approved member upon payment of the entrance fee and membership fees.
